Concur Travel is now providing emissions data at the point of booking in its new platform that meets the ISO 14083 standard.
Concur says it is the first booking tool to provide ISO 14083-assured data, with the standard designed to bring consistency to the way transport’s carbon emissions are measured and provide credible data to guide corporate’s sustainability efforts. The standard is also aligned with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) which requires companies to report their carbon emissions, starting from this year.
The booking platform provider announced a partnership with Thrust Carbon in March last year, with certain methodologies provided by Thrust receiving ISO assurance in July last year. These have now been integrated by Concur and will be displayed on air, train and car searches to all customers using the new iteration of Concur Travel.
“We understand that sustainability is no longer a ‘nice to have’ but rather a business imperative,” said Concur Travel president Charlie Sultan. “By becoming the first online booking tool to integrate emissions calculations tied to the ISO 14083 standard, we’re empowering our customers with the accurate and consistent data needed to make informed decisions and for reporting.”
Kit Aspen, founder of Thrust Carbon, added: “ISO 14083 unites our industry under a single rigorous standard, which allows us to reduce uncertainty, increase consistency, and focus on the push to net-zero.”
