British Airways has this week reintroduced flights from London Heathrow to Tbilisi after a 12-year hiatus, while easyJet’s first service from the UK to the Georgian capital took off from London Luton.
BA’s four-times-weekly services feature Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy) seating, with return fares from £244.
Meanwhile easyJet’s new service between the capital cities operates twice-weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, throughout the summer season. The low-cost carrier has already introduced flights from both Geneva and Milan Malpensa to Tbilisi this year.
“We are really pleased to be celebrating this exciting new route in easyJet’s network and to be providing unique direct connectivity between the UK and Tbilisi in Georgia this summer,” said Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager.
This week also marks the reintroduction of British Airways flights between London Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur after a five-year pause. Return fares on the daily service start from £574.
“We’re delighted to welcome Malaysia and Georgia back to our network, both of which are two key destinations that our customers know and love,” said British Airways’ chief planning and strategy officer, Neil Chernoff.
“Our teams have worked hard to bring these routes firmly back on our route map, meaning customers have more choice when it comes to travel for work or pleasure across Europe, Asia and beyond.”
The airline has also increased its daily service between Heathrow and Tokyo to twice-daily and increased capacity between the UK and Saudi Arabia.
