Ruby Hotels is to continue its expansion around Europe with plans to open a new property in Copenhagen.
The “premium urban” brand, which was acquired by hotel giant InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) last month, is to convert an existing office building in the Danish capital into a 219-room hotel.
The six-storey hotel, located in Copenhagen’s Frederiksberg district, will include a winter garden on the ground floor and a rooftop terrace with views across the city.
Elena Günther-Jakobs, associate director for Central and Northern Europe at the Ruby Group, said: "Copenhagen has always been a top priority for us, and we’re thrilled to finally make our market entry in Denmark. The city’s dynamic atmosphere, with its rich art scene, lively culture and renowned gastronomy, makes it a perfect fit for our target group.”
The Copenhagen property is being developed with Ruby’s long-term partner ECE and is due to open in early 2027.
Ruby Group, which was founded in 2013, currently operates 20 hotels around Europe with another 10 properties in development. The company also runs the Ruby Workspaces flexible working office brand.
