Singapore Airlines is launching a major renovation of its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges located within Terminal 2 of its home base at Singapore Changi Airport.
The Asian carrier said it would be spending S$45 million (€30 million) on the project, which started on 15 April and is expected to be completed by mid-2027.
In a statement, Singapore Airlines said the lounges would be expanded to offer 50 per cent more space and seating, as well as providing upgraded facilities such as a renovated bar in the First Class SilverKris Lounge and making a wider choice of dishes available from its live cooking stations.
The Business Class SilverKris Lounge will be expanded by 30 per cent and will include a quiet rest area with reclining seats, alongside an expanded self-service buffet and full-service bar.
The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double its capacity with a range of armchairs, workstations and dining seats available for passengers. New facilities will include in-lounge restrooms and shower suites.
Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president of customer experience at Singapore Airlines, said: “This significant investment underscores Singapore Airlines’ unwavering commitment to elevating the end-to-end travel experience for our customers.
“Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2.”
The airline plans to carry out the project in phases with work already under way on the First Class SilverKris Lounge with planned completion by the fourth quarter of 2025. Construction will then start on the Business Class SilverKris Lounge followed by the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge in the first half of 2026.
