Virgin Atlantic is to resume services to Canada for the first time in more than a decade with a route from London to Toronto.
The UK carrier, which is also celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024, will restart daily flights between London Heathrow and Toronto Pearson International airports on 30 March 2025.
Virgin said it will operate a “mix” of aircraft on the new Toronto route including its new Airbus A330-900neo which offers the carrier’s Retreat Suite social space.
The airline added that its new route to Toronto would provide “optimal connectivity” to Canada, via Heathrow, for passengers travelling from its Indian destinations of Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. Virgin launched services to Bengaluru earlier this year.
Virgin Atlantic has also announced an expanded codeshare partnership with Canadian airline WestJet, which is due to start in October 2024 and will cover destinations such as Ottawa and Winnipeg in Canada.
The airline has not operated flights to Canada since 2014 when it axed a route between London and Vancouver.
