Germany-based mobility platform Freenow has promoted Danny O’Gorman to the position of general manager for the UK.
Based in London, O’Gorman will oversee the company’s operations across the country, with a “strategic focus” on supporting London’s black cab trade and expanding taxi services in key UK cities.
O’Gorman first joined Freenow in August 2024 as general manager for Ireland after working as a sales director for online marketplace Catawiki and, prior to that, in various account management and sales roles at Amazon.
His expanded remit will include efforts to increase ride demand and improve driver benefits, along with advocacy work to “strengthen the taxi industry for the future,” O’Gorman said in a statement.
Commenting on the appointment, Freenow general manager for Europe, Tim Arnold, said: “We are delighted to welcome Danny to lead our UK business... we are fully committed to London’s black cab trade and believe that under Danny’s leadership, we will continue to offer the best support for drivers and the best experience for passengers.”
