3 April 2025: Virgin Atlantic has resumed flights from the UK to Canada after a gap of more than 10 years. The daily service between London Heathrow and Toronto operates daily using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. More details here
24 February 2025: Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc is to introduce a new route linking London Stansted Airport with its hub at Casablanca. The Stansted-Casablanca service is due to begin on 24 June and will operate three times per week. More details here
24 February 2025: Budget long-haul carrier Norse Atlantic is to launch a new route between London Gatwick and Bangkok from 26 October 2025, as well as increasing flights from Stockholm and Oslo to Thailand’s capital. Gatwick-Bangkok services will operate up to four times per week. More details here
14 February 2025: Channel Islands airline Blue Islands will operate a twice-weekly seasonal service between Jersey and Paris this summer, commencing on 22 May and ending on 30 October. The service is slated to return in summer 2026.
11 February 2025: South American carrier LATAM Airlines is to launch a new route between Lisbon and Fortaleza in northern Brazil this summer. LATAM will operate the route once per week from 7 April to 20 October using Boeing 787 aircraft – it will be the carrier’s first direct service between northeast Brazil and Europe since 2009. 31 January 2025: Icelandair will commence a new direct service to Miami, Florida, for the upcoming 2025 winter season. Flights
will operate three times weekly – on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday –
on Airbus A321LR aircraft. The seasonal service between Reykjavik and
Miami will run from October through to March 2026.
27 January 2025: Norse Atlantic has announced plans for a new long-haul route between Athens and Los Angeles. The budget long-haul carrier will operate the service four times per week from 3 June, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Norse Atlantic already offers routes to LA from London Gatwick, Paris and Rome. More details here
20 January 2025: Singapore Airline’s budget carrier Scoot is to add a new route between Singapore and Vienna starting on 3 June. Flights will operate three times per week using Boeing 787-8 aircraft. But Scoot will drop its service to Berlin from late March. More details here
15 January 2025: Qatar Airways will recommence flights from Doha to Malta with a four-times-weekly service. From 2 July, the resumed service will depart Doha for Malta International Airport on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, however flight departure and arrival times differ. More details here
14 January 2025: Asiana Airlines will increase flights to Europe by adding a route between Seoul and the Czech capital Prague. The Korean carrier, which has now been acquired by rival Korean Air, will operate three weekly flights between Incheon International Airport and Prague from 1 April. The new service will complement Korean Air’s existing four flights per week on the Seoul-Prague route. More details here
8 January 2025: Cathay Pacific will resume direct flights between Hong Kong and Rome on 5 June after a pandemic-induced hiatus. Operating three-times-weekly as a summer seasonal service, the route will mark the carrier’s second direct connection between Hong Kong and Italy following its five-times-weekly service to Milan, which will increase to daily this summer. 6 January 2025: Air Astana is to increase its presence in Germany by adding a new route between Almaty and Frankfurt. The
Kazakhstan-based carrier will launch the Almaty-Frankfurt route on 1
June, which will operate three times per week using Airbus A321LR
aircraft. Air Astana already operates flights from Frankfurt to
Kazakhstan’s capital Astana, as well as to Uralsk in the west of the
