Aparthotel specialist Staycity Group has announced plans to open its first property in Northern Ireland.
The Dublin-based company has struck a deal with developer Lotus Property to open a 98-room hotel in Belfast city centre, which will be converted from its previous use as a tax office for HMRC and is due to completed in the third quarter of 2026.
The property located on Belfast’s Wellington Place will be turned into a mixture of studio and one-bedroom apartments. It will also feature a reception, bar, restaurant and shop.
Simon Walford, Staycity Group’s UK development director, said: “We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of this prime site in the heart of Belfast. The property will operate under our popular Staycity Aparthotels brand.”
Staycity, which also operates the Wilde extended stay brand, currently has a portfolio of 36 properties across Europe offering a total of around 6,000 apartment-style rooms.
Chief development officer Andrew Fowler added: “This is a significant deal for us as it marks our entry into another European capital city while strengthening our partnership with The Lotus Group, a key development partner with whom we are pursuing multiple UK projects.”
