Karen Janssen
Wings Global Travel has recruited Karen Janssen as the TMC’s chief information officer (CIO) to head up its global technology programme.
Janssen, who was mostly recently global CIO for Corporate Travel Management (CTM), will be responsible for Wings’ technology strategy, operations, infrastructure and customer experience at its London headquarters and across global markets.
“IT has always been operationally important to TMCs. Now it’s strategically vital, both to enable the business to be efficient, agile and responsive but crucially to transform travellers’ experiences,” said Janssen.
“As corporate travel continues to evolve, TMCs also need to meet growing demands for sustainability, wellbeing and automation.”
Wings president and CEO Tony Sofianos added: “I’m thrilled that Karen is bringing her passion, experience and vision to this key role at Wings. Harnessing the power of technology to deliver an even better experience for travellers and travel arrangers is the key to unlocking future growth for Wings.”
Janssen has more than 20 years’ experience working in travel industry technology, including a spell as head of IT service operations at Brisbane-based Flight Centre Travel Group.
