American Express Global Business Travel has agreed an “enhanced” agreement with Lufthansa Group to “expand and accelerate availability” of the airline company’s NDC-enabled fares.
The two companies have already been working together to distribute Lufthansa’s NDC content for several years. Amex GBT said this arrangement had generated “millions of dollars of Lufthansa Group NDC sales in 2024”.
The new “renewed, expanded” agreement is designed to accelerate the availability of Lufthansa’s NDC fares and other content on Amex GBT’s proprietary platforms, offline booking and third-party booking tools.
It will also include access to Lufthansa’s NDC-only rates and special promotions across the group’s airlines, including Lufthansa, Swiss, Brussels Airlines and Austrian Airlines.
John Bukowski, Amex GBT’s vice president, content acquisition and strategic sourcing, said: “This new agreement reflects our joint commitment with Lufthansa Group to create more value for our corporate customers by enabling NDC content at scale while supporting the integrity and strength of their corporate travel programmes.”
The TMC said it already had more than 20 airlines featured within its NDC programme, which helped to secure NDC sales which ran into “the hundreds of millions of dollars” in 2024 across 16 of Amex GBT’s markets.
Heinrich Lange, Lufthansa Group’s vice president of digital retailing, added: “We are excited to strengthen our continued partnership with Amex GBT, as we work together to deliver robust, NDC-enabled solutions for our joint corporate customers.
“This collaboration empowers us to enhance servicing capabilities, offering a seamless and personalised experience, while providing better value fares and exclusive offers.”
